Online Live Lectures on Popularization of Science for Earthquake Prevention and Disaster Mitigation

May 12, 2020 was the 12th "National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Day" of China. The theme of this year is "Enhance the emergency ability of grass roots and build up the people's  defencse line for disaster prevention, mitigation and relief". The week from May 9 to 15 was propaganda week for disaster prevention and mitigation. As one of the supporting members of the CSRME, the Institute of Crustal Dynamics, China Earthquake Administration held the online live lectures on the popularization of science for earthquake prevention and disaster mitigation. 
 
On April 24, Professor Gaozhong Nie from the Institute of Geology, China Earthquake Administration gave a presentation of "the Concept, Theory and Basic Characteristics of Earthquake Emergency Response". On May 8, 2020, Professor Gaozhong Nie gave another presentation of "the Current State of Assessment
Technologies of Earthquake Emergency Response". On May 12, 2020, an online open course of "Earthquake disaster and emergency rescue" was launched for science popularization education of earthquake prevention and disaster reduction. 

This series of lectures of " Academic Forum Reports of The Earthquake Talents" was launched by two modes of online and offline participation. So far, the total number of online visitors reached more than 40,000, and the cumulative number of audience was nearly 7,000.
