Meetings for Celebrating the Establishment of the Three Branches of Chinese Society for Rock Mechanics and Engineering (CSRME)

Recently, CHINA ROCK 2020--The 17th CSRME Academic Conference was held, and during its session, the CSRME held three meetings for celebrating the establishment of the branches respectively.
Technical Committee for Standardization. The honorary Chairman of the Technical Committee for Standardization was Professor Xia-ting Feng, the President of the CSRME. The Chairman of the Technical Committee for Standardization was Professor Qiang Xue, who was also the director of the Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This Committee consists of 19 experts from the national rock mechanics and engineering community who have plenty of experiences in standard preparation and have some influences in the industry.Geotechnical Engineering Branch. At the first National General Meeting of this Branch, Zhu Chunming was elected by ballot to act as the first Chairperson, and other members of the Council were elected too. The first academic conference was held with the theme: "Focus on the bottleneck problems of geotechnical engineering, promote the deep integration of science, technology and economy, and do not omit an optimal solution." At the same time, this conference was broadcasted live through online platform. 762 colleagues watched the event both offline and online.
Geological and Geotechnical Engineering Intelligent Monitoring Branch. On October 25, the inaugural meeting of the Branch, namely the first academic seminar on the intelligent monitoring of geology and geotechnical engineering was held. After the inaugural meeting, the Branch held the first general meeting for all the members. At the general meeting, the first Council was elected, and Professor Xia-ting Feng issued a letter of appointment to Professor Shi Bin, the Branch's President. This meeting was held online and offline simultaneously, with a total of more than 250 people participated offline, and inversely, more than 1,000 people participated online.
