CSRME held the Fourth Preparatory Meeting for the 11th Asian Rock Mechanics Symposium (ARMS11) and the Secretary-General Working Conference

The fourth (video) preparatory meeting for the ARMS 11 and the secretary-general working conference were held on February 24, 2021. Professor Hongpu Kang (an academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering, the vice president of the CSRME), professor Qiang Yang (the vice president of the ISRM), and professor Xiaojie Yang (the secretary-general of the CSRME) attended this meeting. It was chaired by professor Lixing Huang who is the secretary-general of ARMS 11. A total of 79 people attended the meeting, including the members of the organizing committee and working committee of ARMS 11, the heads of each sub-session, and secretaries-general of the CSRME branches.
Professor Qiang Yang introduced two international conferences held in China including the 2nd Asian Rock Mechanics Symposium (ARMS 2) in 2001 and the 12th ISRM International Congress 2011. Dr. Zhuo Wang, the director of the academic development department of the CSRME gave a report on the current progress of preparatory work for the ARMS11 from three aspects: the work program, the work progress, and the next step work plan. The heads of each sub-session presented the preparations, the main problems, and the next step work plan.
This preparatory meeting promoted the progress of the organization work of the conference, implemented the next work plan for the 23 sub-sessions, and achieved a complete success.
