Candidate recommendation for "ISRM Young Rock Engineer Award" and "ISRM Technological Invention Award" of the year 2021

In January 2021, the CSRME launched the application procedures for ISRM 2021 Young Rock Engineer Award. By March 1, 9 young people (5 from colleges and universities, 4 from enterprises and institutions) had participated in the application. The CSRME organized a review expert group consisting of 7 experts, including Academician Manchao He, Professor Hehua Zhu, Professor Chunan Tang, Professor Gengshe Yang, Professor Yishan Pan, Professor Shengwu Song and Professor Xibing Li, to conduct online review of application materials according to ISRM Guideline. This review was completed on March 15th. After the meeting of the Party Committee and the Party Working Committee of the CSRME, 6 applicants ranked the top six in total score, including Professor Liping Li, Professor Fengshou Zhang, Professor Longjun Dong, Professor Qi Wang, Professor Zhigang Tao and senior engineer Yingying Hu. They were recommended as candidates for ISRM 2021 Young Rock Engineer Award. 

In February 2021, the CSRME launched the application procedures for "ISRM Technological Invention Award". By April 10, a total of 7 entities participated in the application. On April 21, the review meeting was held. The panel consisted of Professor Qiang Yang, Professor Xibing Li, Researcher Xiao Li, Professor Furen Xie and Professor Zulie Fang. After the applicants' defense and experts' evaluation and rating, China University of Mining and Technology (Beijing), Wuhan Institute of Rock and Soil Mechanics, Chinese Academy of Sciences and Shandong University were finally recommended as candidates for ISRM Technology Inventions Award.
