A Series of Conferences with the Theme of "Science and Technology Innovation Serving National Major Projects"

During February-March 2022, the CSRME organized a series of conferences with the theme of "Science and Technology Innovation Serving National Major Projects".
On February 9, 2022, an exchange conference between the CSRME and the Central Yunnan Water Diversion Project Construction Administration Bureau was held in Beijing. A total of 7 people attended the conference, including Academician He Manchao (The President of the CSRME), Professor Yang Xiaojie (The Secretary-General of the CSRME), and Sun Qingguo, Deputy Director (temporary post) of the Yunnan Water Diversion Project Construction Administration Bureau, and so on. Deputy Director Sun Qingguo introduced the current construction progress of this project, and stated that they currently encounter many technical problems, particularly the large deformation in soft rock mass. He believed that the team from Academician He Manchao developed a series of novel technologies, and hoped to strengthen cooperation with the CSRME in many aspects in the future. Professor Yang Xiaojie introduced an operation mechanism of the "Three Lists - One Forum". He said that The CSRME would strengthen the provision of technical consultation and scientific and technological innovation services for the construction of major projects such as "water diversion from central Yunnan", and do a good job in serving major national projects.

On February 28, 2022, an exchange conference between the CSRME and Xinjiang Administration of Water Resources and Hydropower Planning and Design was held in Beijing. 8 people attended the conference, including Academician He Manchao (The President of the CSRME), Mr. Li Jiang (Director General of Xinjiang Administration of Water Resources and Hydropower Planning and Design), Professor Yang Xiaojie (The Secretary-General of the CSRME), and so on. Mr. Li Jiang reported the scientific and technical problems encountered in the construction of Xinjiang water conservancy and hydropower projects. He hoped to establish a friendly cooperative relationship with the CSRME. And he also expected that the new ideas, new technologies and new materials developed by the CSRME could be applied in Xinjiang water conservancy and hydropower projects to overcome some technical bottlenecks. Academician He Manchao introduced the operation mechanism of the "Three Lists - One Forum" and the significant application effect of NPR anchor cable in national major projects. He hoped to provide strong scientific and technological support for the construction of water conservancy and hydropower projects in Xinjiang. He suggested to establish a long-term cooperation mechanism -- the Xinjiang Research Center of Science and Technology Innovation Consortium of the CSRME.

On March 4, 2022, an exchange conference between the CSRME and POWERCHINA HUADONG Engineering Corporation Limited (HDEC) was held in Beijing. 8 people attended the conference, including Professor Yang Xiaojie (The Secretary-General of the CSRME), and Mr. Xu Jianjun (The Chief Engineer of the HDEC), and so on. Mr. Xu Jianjun stated that the HDEC hoped to continue to receive the guidance and assistance from the CSRME in future important Engineering construction project. They would summarize the preliminary achievements of the previous projects for better serving the following major national projects. Professor Yang Xiaojie said that he would choose an opportunity to organize a trip for academicians to visit the Baihetan Hydropower Station and provide high-level scientific and technological self-reliance services for the HDEC.
