On February 15, the Third Plenary Meeting of the Tenth National Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was successfully held in Beijing. In order for urging researchers to stick to the bottom line of academic ethics, Academician He Manchao, as a Member of the Academic Exchange and Journal Publishing Committee of the Tenth National Committee of the China Association for Science and Technology, on behalf of 211 national societies, read out the "Moral Convention on Academic Publishing for National Societies of the CAST" (hereinafter referred to as the Convention) at the meeting.

From the perspective of the academic community, the "Convention" focuses on the all-process of publishing academic papers, and urges researchers, journal editors and reviewers to break with the "circle" culture and interest chains, strengthen behavioral self-control, exclude papers from relationship field. The "Convention" aims to ensure that the publication can be completed objectively and impartially, the papers can be published authentically and reliably, and China's science and technology can have a high-quality development. In addition, the "Convention" calls on the researchers to abide by the norms of scientific research, conscientiously preserve experimental data, ensure that all experiments are verifiable and can be replicated, and research results are authentic and credible. It also calls on researchers to abide by publishing ethics, adhere to academic integrity, and resist all types of academic misconduct.

To further strengthen the self-discipline of the academic community and deepen the construction of scientific ethics and academic atmosphere, the CSRME advocates that all scientific and technological workers and editors in the field of rock mechanics and engineering shall abide by academic publishing ethics, jointly resist academic misconduct, and maintain a clean scientific research ecology, and make contributions to accelerating the realization of self-reliance and self-improvement in science and technology.
